How do I find out what processor my laptop has?

Most modern Laptops have a sticker on the palmrest stating the processor name and generation. Match the sticker on your laptop to one of the images on this page.

The Processor / CPU can also be found easily in the Windows operating system, please follow instructions for the different Windows generations below.

Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10:

  1. Click the Windows Key on the keyboard or click the start icon at the bottom left of the computer screen. The icon does not say "Start" but rather has four colored (or white) rectangles arranged in a square.
  2. Type "processor" without the quotes.
  3. View Processor info.
